Feel closer to the action on the DP World Tour by competing against golf fans from around the world in our official Fantasy game as the world's best players head to North Carolina.

Wyndham Clark is the defending champion having won his first Major Championship 12 months ago at Los Angeles Country Club.

His victory last year forms part of a run of five different Americans winning the last five Majors, the longest such streak in 40 years.

Countryman and World Number One Scottie Scheffler is the man to beat though with five victories in his last eights starts.

There are 39 DP World Tour members teeing it up at the third men's Major of the year, including first-timers Tom McKibbin and Casey Jarvis, while Matteo Manassero makes a long-awaited return to this elite level of the sport.

Fantasy Prize

Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.

Favourite - Scottie Scheffler

Another Major Championship, and another occasion when the pre-tournament favourite is not really in doubt.

Readers of this weekly feature will know that Scheffler was widely regarded as the man to beat before both the Masters Tournament and US PGA Championship, and that remains the case for the U.S. Open.

Since the most recent Major last month, he has underlined his status as the best in the world by finishing in a tie for second at the Charles Schwab Challenge and then winning the Memorial Tournament last week.

That was his fifth PGA TOUR title so far this year, one of which came at the Masters as he won his second Green Jacket.

Will this be the week he earns the second leg of a career Grand Slam?

Form Horse - Collin Morikawa

The Ryder Cup player can go one better than Scheffler as a victory would be his third Major success, following his previous triumphs at the US PGA Championship and The Open.

And with the form he is showing since the Masters in April it would come as little surprise.

In his last six starts he has finished no worse than a tie for 16th, with five top tens and arrives at Pinehurst having finished second to countryman Scheffler at Muirfield Village Golf Club on Sunday.

His fine run of form has seen him climb from 20th in the Official World Golf Ranking to seventh and that is the number of titles on the PGA TOUR he would hold if he was to lift the trophy at his national championship this week.

Add into the mix the chance to secure one of the spots in the US team for the Olympic Games and there is no shortage of incentive for Morikawa.

Wild Card - Tom McKibbin

Rory McIlroy has company in flying the flag for Northern Ireland at one of golf's four main prizes.

While this will be his Major Championship debut, McKibbin does so at a venue which holds special memories.

Despite having only turned professional at the age of 18 in 2021, this is a moment many have long seen coming due to quick transition he has made in the paid ranks.

The 21-year-old DP World Tour champion, who earned his spot through Final Qualifying at Walton Heath last month, won the World Kids Championship at Pinehurst as a 12-year-old.

With four top tens and three other top 20 finishes so far this year on the DP World Tour, confidence will be high as he tests his game among the very best.

Fantasy Insight: As it stands, Scottie Scheffler is the favourite among players of our Fantasy Game this week, featuring in 85% of teams. Other popular players include the in-form Collin Morikawa (72%) and recent US PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele (66%).

Viktor Hovland, who finished solo third at last month's PGA Championship, is the fourth most picked player from those in the field, featuring in 61% of Fantasy teams.

Looking back – Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed

Linn Grant made yet more history as a hole-out birdie on the last proved to be the shot that won her the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed for the second time and saw her become the first woman to win twice on the DP World Tour.

Despite being a past champion, the Swedish Solheim Cup star was picked by just 12% of Fantasy users.

Overnight leader Sebastian Söderberg finished in a tie for second alongside Calum Hill, with both bolstering their standing in the top-performing players in this season's Fantasy game.
