When in the really long rough, with the ball nestled down, and around ten yards to the green, visualisation is paramount.
"You want to pick a club with a lot of loft but you still need to maintain an open face because the high rough will have a strong chance to wrap around the hosel of the shaft and then shut the face of the club, he says.
"Ideally you want an open face, a strong left hand to keep the face open through impact and then you have got to pick a place. Obviously it takes a bit of practice but you pick a place to land the ball to release it out to the pin."
