Rahm's Augusta record in focus after Masters triumph

Jon Rahm continued his love affair with Augusta National Golf Club as he secured his first Green Jacket at the 87th Masters Tournament.

The Spaniard now has five top-ten finishes to show for his seven trips to the year's first Major Championship, and here we take a closer look at his phenomenal record.

2018 - 4th 

A year on from his Masters debut - when he came joint-27th - Rahm found himself in contention on the back nine on Sunday. He made back-to-back birdies at the 13th and 14th to give himself hope of a grandstand finish but found the water on the 15th and had to settle for fourth place.

2019 - Tied ninth (T9)

Rahm posted four under-par rounds in 2019 to finish just three shots behind champion Tiger Woods. But with a stellar field playing some of their very best golf, his ten-under total saw him finish in a tie for ninth.

2020 - T7

With the tournament being played in November due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rahm recovered quickly after two early dropped shots to card an opening-round 69. He then added a 66 to move into a five-way tie for the 36-hole lead, but a level-par 72 during round three left him with too much ground to make up. A final round of 71 moved him into a share of seventh place for a third consecutive top ten at the Masters. "It's just unfortunate I didn't have my best stuff this week," Rahm said. "I did really well to do what I did the first two days, and the weekend kind of caught up with me and just had to battle through."

2021 - T5

Three opening rounds of 72 meant Rahm was 11 shots off the lead heading into Sunday and while he could not get close enough to challenge for the Green Jacket, he made four birdies and an eagle in his closing 66 to finish joint-fifth.

2023 - Winner

Having finished joint-27th again in 2022, Rahm endured a nightmare start to his first round on Thursday. He four-putted the first hole for an opening double bogey but bounced back in style, making an eagle and seven birdies over the next 17 holes to equal his lowest round at Augusta and share the first-round lead. Rahm continued to impress as the week went on and, after weather delays had disrupted play over the weekend, he found himself two shots adrift of leader Brooks Koepka going into the final round. That deficit evaporated over the first four holes and he built up a commanding lead on the back nine before closing out a fine four-shot victory.
