Golf will not be the only sport played on the course at the Singapore Classic next month, as visitors to the Laguna National Golf Resort Club will be treated to a display like no other: Beach volleyball on a bunker.
Once the opening day of play winds down at the Classic Course, national volleyball players Eliza Chong, Alicia Tan, Trevis Tan and Nicholas Kiu will participate in a beach volleyball exhibition match on Hole 9 of the Masters Course.
This is one of the many highlights specially curated for ticket holders to have the best possible experience at the Singapore Classic, in addition to what is sure to be a masterful show of golf from 9 to 12 February. The Spectator Village will have something for everyone throughout the day, from games like Giant Jenga and Monster Ping Pong, as well as activities such as face-painting – all of which can be enjoyed both by children and adults alike. A wide range of delectable food and beverage options are also available to fuel visitors’ viewing experience like the Tee Deck, Le Entrecote, &Made Gourmet Burgers and Tanquerray pop up – ensuring that they can be energised from day to night.
Those new to the sport can pick up some tips from the professionals at the Leadbetter Golf Academy, who will be on hand to guide. They can then challenge themselves and put their putting to the test on the Singapore Classic’s 9-hole putting course, located right in the Spectator Village.
Spectators can also be rewarded for documenting their day out at the Singapore Classic through the daily Instagram photo contest, with the winner of the best photo each day receiving a limited edition event goodie bag.
And when the golf is done for the day, there are still plenty of opportunities for spectators to play. Those feeling inspired after watching some of the world’s best golfers up close can show their talent at the Oakley Closest to the Pin shootout contest over water to a peninsular green. Exciting prizes will be awarded to the top three closest shots every evening from Friday to Sunday. Visitors to Laguna National can also soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the live music in the Spectator Village by The Nefarious Friends, with singer Christo Alexander known for his wonderful voice.
All these and more will be on offer at the Singapore Classic, which marks the return of the DP World Tour to Singapore for the first time since 2014. The event is organised by Vantage Pointe, which delivers specialised and boutique strategic advisory to a distinct collection of golf-centric businesses.

Ryan Fox of New Zealand, who won twice on the DP World Tour last year, has confirmed his participation for the US$2 million Singapore Classic alongside the likes of young amateur stars Ding Wenyi and Ratchanon Chantananuwat (TK).
The DP World Tour first visited Singapore in 1993, with Major Champions Sir Nick Faldo and Ian Woosnam winning the first editions of the Johnnie Walker Classic in 1993 and 1996. Fellow Major Champions Vijay Singh and Adam Scott are also winners on the DP World Tour in Singapore.
The 2006 edition of the Singapore Masters, held at Laguna National, was the scene of the most memorable moment in the country’s golfing history, when home favourite Mardan Mamat lifted the trophy, finishing one stroke ahead of England’s Nick Dougherty.
