The European Tour group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Casey to the newly created role of DP World Tour Head of Tournament Business from April 4, 2022.
Mark will support Chief Tournament Business Officer Ben Cowen in managing DP World Tour scheduling, including securing new tournaments, managing relationships with event promoters, and developing aspects of the DP World Tour’s Strategic Alliance arrangements with the PGA TOUR, Sunshine Tour and ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.
Mark has enjoyed a long career in the world of golf, having previously worked for the Ladies European Tour in the roles of International Development Director, Director of Operations and European Solheim Cup Director from 2008 to 2015.
He provided consultancy services to the European Tour group in 2016 and 2017, running the innovative GolfSixes events and the Hero Challenge series, before joining full time as a Championship Director in 2018. He played a pivotal role as the European Tour group navigated the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, leading a new Covid team and working alongside Chief Medical Officer Dr Andrew Murray to ensure that events could go ahead within the safest possible environment for players, caddies, staff and stakeholders, and complying with ever-changing regulations across multiple countries.
Ben Cowen, Chief Tournament Business Officer, said: “Mark has been an incredible asset to the European Tour group since he first joined as a consultant in 2016, initially working on high profile and complex events in line with our guiding principles of being innovative, inclusive and global.
“Latterly, he was instrumental in delivering the plans and logistics that allowed us to continue to operate around the world during the challenging pandemic period. I look forward to working closely with Mark to continue the growth of the DP World Tour alongside our global and Strategic Alliance partners.”

Mark will continue to act as the Championship Director of the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in June 2022 – an innovative event for male and female players, hosted by European Ryder Cup Captain Henrik Stenson and ten-time Major winner Annika Sörenstam - before moving into his new role full time.
