Leading Andalucía trio land DP World Tour Play-Off spots

Julien Guerrier, Jorge Campillo and Daniel Brown have all secured their place in the DP World Tour Play-Offs ahead of this week's final event of the regular season.

Julien Guerrier

Frenchman Guerrier defeated Campillo in a nine-hole play-off at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters to win his first DP World Tour title, with Brown finishing third, two shots out of extra holes.

The win catapulted Guerrier 63 places on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex up to 18th, comfortably securing his place in the field for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The top 70 on the Race to Dubai after this week's Genesis Championship - the final event of the Back 9 - will secure their place in Abu Dhabi for the first event of the Play-Offs, with the top 50 after that advancing to the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Campillo moved up 35 places to 25th and Brown 20 places to 35th but there are still plenty of players fighting to secure their Play-Off places this week in Korea.

Tony Finau and Andrea Pavan dropped out of the top 70 last week and while Finau's DP World Tour season is now over, Pavan could fight his way back to the right side of the line in Korea.

Adrien Saddier is the man they are all looking to catch, while Sean Crocker in 69th will also be looking over his shoulder as he does not tee it up at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club.

One man making a strong late dash for the Play-Offs is Fabrizio Zanotti, who two weeks ago was fighting for his card but is now 92nd after finishing 12th and seventh the last two weeks.

The Back 9 so far

The Back 9 started with a first-time winner, as Dane Niklas Nørgaard lifted the trophy at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo to ensure his place in the Play-Offs, with Matt Wallace punching his ticket with victory in a play-off at the Omega European Masters. Rasmus Højgaard then held off the challenge of home hero Rory McIlroy to win the Amgen Irish Open, with McIlroy losing out again the following week in the Rolex Series at the BMW PGA Championship, as Billy Horschel took home the trophy. There was more play-off drama the following week at the acciona Open de España presented by Madrid when Angel Hidalgo took down Jon Rahm in an all-Spanish battle before Tyrrell Hatton prevailed at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The DP World Tour's late-season run of world-class international golf then continued with Dan Bradbury emerging from a crowded leaderboard to win the FedEx Open de France before Guerrier prevailed from an epic play-off in Spain.
