Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters - Day three digest

Everything you need to know from day three at Real Club Valderrama.

Joakim Lagergren

There were two very strong contenders for "par of the century" and some excellent eagles on Moving Day at the 2022 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters.

Here is everything you need to know from day three at Real Club Valderrama.

Hidalgo's great escape

After getting into significant tree trouble at the ninth, Angel Hidalgo somehow managed to pull off what some are calling "the par of the century". After his second shot hit a tree and went around 40 yards in the wrong direction, the Spaniard lifted his third to the semi-rough by the green and went on to hole the putt from 12 feet.

Anything you can do...

Robert MacIntyre also offered up a "par of the century" contender at the long 11th, holing his bunker shot to walk away from a roller-coaster hole with no damage done.

Otaegui goes low to lead the way

Home hope Adrian Otaegui leads by six shots going into the final round, having posted a Saturday 64 to move to 16 under par and tie the 54-hole record at Valderrama.

Smith shines

Jordan Smith produced some impressive shots on Saturday, including this sensational tee-shot at the sixth, which set up a tap-in birdie.

Rozner goes close to albatross

Antoine Rozner made an eagle at the long 17th but it was very nearly even better for the Frenchman, who came close to holing his approach for a rare albatross.

Lagergren lands eagle

Joakim Lagergren certainly knows how to play the 17th. He got his second eagle there this week courtesy of this brilliant putt from off the green.
