Having equalled the course record thanks to Thursday's 62, Rasmus Højgaard made yet more history at Le Golf National on Friday as he reached 15 under par, securing the lowest 36-hole score to par at this tournament since hole-by-hole data began. He will take a six-shot lead into the weekend at continental Europe's oldest national open as he bids to add to the three DP World Tour titles he has already won.

Barjon's excellent eagle

Frenchman Paul Barjon found the green in two at the par-five 14th but was a long way back. He sent his 61-foot eagle putt travelling at speed up a big tier and watched as it ran down the other side and into the cup. The crowd absolutely loved it. He is Højgaard's nearest challenger on nine under after Friday's 68.

The scorecard paints no pictures

Amazing amateurs

Four French amateurs made the cut at their home open, with 17-year-old Oihan Guillamoundeguy heading into the weekend on four under par after firing back-to-back 69s. Tom Vaillant, Julien Sale and Martin Couvra are also safely through.
