Three to Watch: British Challenge presented by Modest! Golf Management

Road to Mallorca Rankings points are becoming more important than ever with just three events remaining. Here are three men who could be in with a chance of making a move at this week’s British Challenge presented by Modest! Golf Management.

Form horse: Joel Sjöholm

Joel

Joel Sjöholm secured his first victory for over five years at last week’s Hopps Open de Provence after carding rounds of 69-71-65-67 to triumph at Golf International de Pont Royal. The Swede catapulted to 49th position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and now has the chance to move inside the top 45 to earn his place at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A. The 37-year-old has split his time between the European Challenge Tour and the DP World Tour this year but will now look to focus his attention on securing full DP World Tour playing rights through a strong finish to the Road to Mallorca.

Local boy: Ben Stow

Ben Stow

Ben Stow has been in impressive form on the Road to Mallorca with top ten finishes in his last two starts, including a tie for fourth at the recent Swiss Challenge. The Englishman, who won the 2018 Prague Golf Challenge, currently sits in 54th position on the Rankings and he will be looking for another strong performance on home soil this week to make a move into the top 45 and secure his place at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final.

The 30-year-old will be hoping to use course knowledge to his advantage as he was coached at the St. Mellion Estate PGA Golf Academy as a youngster, and he recently became an ambassador for the golf club.

The Outsider: Daniel Brown

Daniel Brown

Daniel Brown has been in terrific form with three top ten finishes in his last five Challenge Tour appearances. The Englishman finished in a tie for second at last week’s Hopps Open de Provence and climbed to 30th on the Road to Mallorca Rankings. The 27-year-old, who graduated from the Euro Pro Tour last season, is looking to climb into the top 20 on the Rankings to earn his DP World Tour card and secure back-to-back promotions.
