The Road to Mallorca is entering a busy part of the season and with the Kaskáda Golf Challenge set to get under way on Thursday, we’ve picked out three players to keep an eye on as the tournament unfolds...
Form Horse
Sweden’s Jens Dantorp is a man who seems to be playing with freedom and ease in recent weeks. The 33-year-old picked up his third European Challenge Tour title at the Challenge de España last month, before following that with a tie for fifth the very next week at the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge supported by The R&A. A week off followed, but he returned to action at last week’s Empordà Challenge where he finished third, having been in contention courtesy of a sublime course record 62 on day two.

Ondrej Lieser put Czech golf on the map when he burst onto the Challenge Tour scene in 2020. The Prague native became the first golfer from the Czech Republic to win on the Challenge Tour with his victory at the 2020 Andalucía Challenge de España before going on to incredibly win the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A and become the first Czech player to top the Road to Mallorca Rankings. He did not quite hit the same heights during his maiden DP World Tour season, but tees it up in Brno this week with the knowhow of how to win at this level.
The Outsider
This week’s Outsider is a man who has two Challenge Tour wins to his name, Englishman Max Orrin. The 28-year-old won the 2014 National Bank of Oman Golf Classic and the 2015 Made in Denmark Challenge as he showed great signs of promise. Having just missed out on securing his DP World Tour card in 2018, he struggled in the seasons that ensued, finishing outside the top 100 on the Road to Mallorca Rankings in the three seasons which followed. However, earlier this month, Orrin entered the winner’s circle once more as he triumphed in the Clutch Pro Tour’s Frilford Heath Classic, going wire-to-wire with rounds of 64-72.
